What We Are Doing

In January 2020, when concerns about the spread of coronavirus began to grow, DFW Airport began enhanced efforts in Terminal D, which houses many of the international flights to and from the airport. DFW’s Customer Experience team paid close attention to touch points throughout the terminal, including the international arrivals area.
Since then, those enhanced efforts have been extended throughout the five terminals and facilities across the airport.
  • In the terminals, we are deploying additional standing hand sanitizer units at the Skylink platforms and at least one unit at every exit location.
  • Customer Experience team is using sanitary wipes and touch screen wipes to focus sanitization efforts on high touch point areas.
  • Additional custodial service staff is being deployed to focus on those touch points, including wiping down Skylink cars and platform touch points.
  • They also will help with custodial essential basic sanitation tasks like trash pickup and wiping down counters and other high touch point areas. This increased help allows custodial team members to focus on the targeted sanitization efforts in the terminal and on Skylink.

Customer Experience is also purchasing and using additional sanitization supplies that meet and, often, exceed CDC recommended standards.

In addition to everyday sanitization, we perform a thorough decontamination process anytime there is potential exposure to COVID-19.

DFW is also offering free terminal parking for all healthcare workers during this time. For more information/details, please visit our Prepaid Parking FAQ page on how to redeem this offer.
